Final Multimedia Project
Choose a story that can be told effectively through both multimedia and text. You want to think of each component of your story as a complement to the others, meaning your video should not repeat your written story. You don't want quotes to overlap. Think of all elements of your story as sidebars, each with their own unique angle.
The purpose of this project is for you to leave JEM 222 with a quality, balanced story that you can use for job searching and internships. Please take advantage of the time allotted for this assignment to create a polished package. Also, take advantage of Lauren and Peggy as editors by submitting early drafts and reviewing your video, slide shows or graphics ahead of time.
What is expected:
- An in-depth story (500-800 words), with a strong headline, subhead, quotes and tight writing
- One in-depth multimedia element (video package, audio slide show, graphic or a component of your choosing). This is harder than it sounds because we want you to really show us what you've learned. The video, photo and audio editing should be tight and extremely clean.
- A strong lead photo for your package. Find something that encompasses all aspects of your story. Again, a difficult task for even expert photo editors.
- Hyperlinks in your story or related links in the sidebar (a given!)
- Optional: explanation of any graphic you would have included
DUE: Friday, Dec. 5 on TNJN by 5 p.m.
