10 Photoshop tips

Save time and frustration
 
 

If you scan images or take photos with a digital camera, they are often way too large to put on a web page.

You MUST resize them.

 

 

For a small thumbnail-size photo

 

1. Open Adobe Photoshop

2. Once Photoshop opens, click on the FILE menu, OPEN and browse to the image you want to resize.

3. Once the image is open, Click on the IMAGE menu, IMAGE SIZE

4. Make the width 200, and the height should change accordingly

5. Click OK

6. Click the FILE menu, SAVE FOR WEB

7. The final images need to be saved as GIF or JPG/JPEG on your USB memory stick

8. Type a name for the image (be sure the image has a .gif or .jpg extension)

 

Use 8 characters or less, no special characters, all lowercase

IE. photo_sm.jpg

 

 

For a larger photo

 

1. Once Photoshop opens, click on the FILE menu, OPEN and browse to the image you want to resize.

2. Once the image is open, Click on the IMAGE menu, IMAGE SIZE

3. Make the width 400, and the height should change accordingly

4. Click OK

5. Click the FILE menu, SAVE FOR WEB

6. The final images need to be saved as GIF or JPG/JPEG on your USB memory stick

7. Type a name for the image (be sure to the image has a .gif or .jpg extension)

 

Use 8 characters or less, no special characters, all lowercase

IE. photo_BIG.jpg
